Ingredients

  • 1 lb alligator meat, cubed

  • Chicken fry mix

  • Baking mix

  • Peanut oil (for frying)

  • Dill pickle spears (for serving)

  • Chick-fil-a sauce, hot sauce, or sweet chili sauce (for dipping)

Preparation

  1. Mix chicken fry mix and baking mix together in a bowl.

  2. Cut alligator meat into bite-sized cubes.

  3. Toss meat in the fry mixture until coated.

  4. Heat peanut oil to 350°F in a deep fryer or heavy pot.

  5. Fry gator bites in batches, 3–4 minutes until golden brown.

  6. Drain on paper towels. Serve with your choice of dipping sauce and pickles.
