About the Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 T unsalted butter

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion

  • 1/3 cup chopped celery

  • 1/2 Granny Smith apple, peeled and diced

  • 1 T minced garlic

  • 1/8 cup dry white wine

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/8 tsp pepper

  • 1/2 cup chopped black walnuts

  • 1/2 loaf rye bread, cubed and toasted

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped

Preparation

  1. Melt butter, add celery, onion, apple, and garlic.

  2. Add salt, pepper, and dry white wine. Simmer.

  3. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  4. Combine celery mixture with bread.

  5. Add walnuts, parsley, chicken broth, and egg.

  6. Grease a baking dish.

  7. Place in baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 20 min.

  8. Remove foil and cook 10 min to brown on top.
